1. Axial flow fixed

paddle turbine Its runner blades are fixed on the hub body, and the blade placement angle cannot be changed with the change of working conditions during operation, which is suitable for multiple power stations where the flow change is small or the number of units can be adjusted to adapt to load changes. Because of its simple structure and low cost, the efficiency will drop sharply when deviating from the design working conditions, so it is generally used in hydropower stations with small output, low water head and small head change.

2. Axial flow rotary paddle turbine The rotor blades are generally operated by the hydraulic relay installed in the runner body, which can be adaptively rotated according to the water head and load changes to maintain the best cooperation between the movable guide vanes and the blade corner, so as to improve the average efficiency. However, this kind of hydro turbine needs a mechanism to operate the rotation of the blades, so the structure is more complex, the cost is high, and it is generally used in large and medium-sized hydropower stations with large changes in water head and output.
